Podle legendy proběhla Lennonovi hlavou slova "...words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup..." jednoho večera, kdy mu tehdejší manželka Cynthia neustále připomínala nějakou věc, kterou zapoměl udělat a on si jí neustále nevšímal.
